LOSSES

Sometimes changes in life result in losses. These can even be positive changes. There’s a saying: “You win some, you lose some. “Even though you find your new house exciting, you might still long for the old.  It is very important that people work through the associated thoughts and feelings of loss. Grief is a natural response to losses. People grieve over the death of someone they loved or over the spouse they lost because of a divorce or over the loss of a job. There are different levels of grief. Grieving always needs adapting or adjusting. Children grieve the loss of previous school friends.

Although losses seem only negative, they could also work very positive. With some losses also come opportunities but we need to be on the lookout for them.

It is okay to feel bad about losses if you’re acknowledging your feelings, you need to talk about your feelings. Rather accept your circumstances instead of allowing your circumstances to bring you down. Accept the responsibility for resolving the loss. Do not be too hard on yourself but acting will bring forth growth. You can give yourself time to grieve if you realize that you won’t feel like this forever. Your feelings are normal. You are not alone.
